General Booking Terms and Conditions
Arrival time is from 2pm onwards, whilst we always endeavour to ensure that your room is ready for this time, this may not always be possible. If you arrive with us before your room being ready we will be happy to store your luggage securely and allow you to enjoy the resort.
Please note that check-in will not be permitted without a valid credit card or debit card. On arrival all guests will be required to provide a valid credit card or debit card to guarantee room payment (if not prepaid) as well as extras/incidentals. This card will be utilised to administer a pre-authorisation charge of the room rate per night, if not prepaid and £100 per room per night.
Please note although the card is not fully charged at this stage the authorised monies will be held against the likely purchase. The final form of payment for extras/incidentals may be changed on departure if you wish, however it should be noted that if you fail to complete your transaction at the point of departure with the same card utilised at check in, it may take up to 20 days for the monies to be released back to your account. Personal credit limits are the responsibility of the credit card holder and we do not take responsibility for any charges incurred as a result of any breach in these limits regardless of the length of time charges are held.
All guests must have vacated rooms on day of departure prior to 11am. Late check-out can be purchased from reception at an additional rate from £10 per hour subject to availability, checkout after 4pm will attract the full room rate of that day.
Guests without a credit card will be asked to prepay in cash the room rate in full and any deposit to allow charge back to their prior to check in.
If you wish to cancel your reservation we require 48 hours notice from the day of arrival. Should your reservation be cancelled outside of this time, your card will be charged in full. In the event of a non-arrival, your card will be charged for your entire reservation.
EssentiaSpa at The Continental Hotel: Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment to allow time for the consultation process. Late arrival will result in loss of treatment time. Robes, slippers and towels will be provided. If you wish to change or cancel your appointment, we request 24 hours’ notice or a full charge will be made. Please inform us of any allergies, injuries, or any medical concerns that the spa should be aware prior to your arrival.
Spa & Leisure: Please note that restrictions may apply in relation to alcohol consumption.
Leisure, Business and Celebration Groups
Our contract and agreement with you. This information is provided so that you have an accurate idea of the services that we offer and the terms under which we operate. Please feel free to contact the Duty Manager if you require further information or clarification.
The person named in all correspondence will become known as "The Group Leader". He/she will remain as group leader until the stay is completed. The group leader will be our point of contact at all times and will be granted authority to deal with us on behalf of every member of the relevant group. The group leader accepts full responsibility for his/her group, and he/she should ensure all members of his/her party adhere to the terms and conditions at all times.
The Continental Hotel will not permit any forms of entertainment that have not been pre approved. The hotel will also not permit the group to bring, wear or use props, inflatable items, printed t-shirts, fancy dress, etc. Dining tables etc. will not be permitted to be dressed with any items such as balloons, table decorations or anything that will cause offence to other diners. We reserve the right to remove such items and will return them on departure.
The Continental Hotel places great emphasis on providing a pleasant and safe environment for its guests and staff. As such, we reserve the right to ask any guest who is abusive, threatening or offensive to our guests or staff to leave the hotel immediately and will incur any relevant early departure charges. Reasons for summary eviction include drunken behaviour, unreasonable demands, foul language, racist comments, suspected theft from the company or other guests, trespass in staff only areas, wilful avoidance of agreed charges, and suspected use of illegal substances - although this list is not exhaustive. All of our public areas are covered by CCTV and a 24-hour Security/Night Management Team.
We reserve the right to invoice our guests for damage or negligent soiling caused to any parts of our premises; accidental or otherwise. Failing to tell us about damage to our property may result in higher-than-expected maintenance or cleaning charges due to delayed intervention.
Only food and drink purchased from the hotel may be consumed on the premises. If food or beverages are brought into the hotel for consumption, a charge will be made equal to the hotel’s selling price for that or an equivalent product, which shall be in the absolute determination of the hotel. The Duty Manager may also confiscate food or beverage and return it to you on your day of departure.
All areas of the hotel are strictly non-smoking. Outside areas are provided for your comfort. Please do not smoke in the hotel or your bedroom. It is usual for us to charge guests an extra night’s accommodation or £500, whichever is greater, if we feel we cannot re-let a room which smells of smoke after their departure. Please note that we do not allow electronic cigarettes to be used inside or on the property, including bedrooms.
The Continental Hotel may provide a separate private dining area for groups. This will be confirmed to the Group Leader. Please refer to code of conduct and dress code in relation to your dining experience. We ask that noise in the restaurants be kept to a minimum for the comfort of all our guests. Leisure or business packages that include dinner may be subject to change dependent on availability, should this be the case an alternative will be offered on arrival.
Hotel guests may bring guests into the hotel at the discretion of the Duty Manager/Night Team/Security. Following this time guests are permitted to order drinks to their bedroom, however this will be at the discretion of the Night Team/Duty Manager and guests will only be served an appropriate number of drinks for the people booked into that room. We reserve the right to refuse service on the grounds of intoxication or behaviour at any time; we also reserve the right to restrict or deny entry to guests at any time of the day.
WiFi is available throughout the hotel including bedrooms, conference / meeting rooms and public areas on a complimentary basis.
Swimming Pool Age Restrictions
Children under the age of 14years old must be accompanied by an adult (18 years +) unless during supervised swim times. Children are not permitted in the Spa(Jacuzzi), Steam Room or Sauna until over the age of 16.
Children to Adult Ratio
The children to adult ratio is one adult to three children. Children must be competent swimmers or by use of approved swimming aids.
